As the double gameweek 27 is over, the deadline for Gameweek 28 is getting close. Lets have a closer look at the player injuries and player availability ahead of gameweek 28 deadline of 18:30 GMT on Friday 12 March :
Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur)
The England international Harry Kane had scored once in each half to give Spurs a healthy 2-0 lead against Dinamo Zagreb in the Europa League. Unfortunately, Kane suffered an injury in the final minutes of the match. However, Mourinho quickly withdrew Kane from action as soon as the striker hit the deck. The 24-year-old was holding a large ice pack on his right knee once he took his place on the bench.
But Mourinho does not think the problem is serious and he backs his star man to play through any potential pain this weekend. Speaking on Kane’s injury, Mourinho said “Harry I don’t believe is anything big. Sunday is a match everyone wants to play and little things will not stop him”.
Anthony Martial (Manchester United)
Anthony Martial will need a scan on his hip after picking up a knock in Manchester United’s Europa League draw with AC Milan. The striker was replaced by Amad at half-time of United’s 1-1 draw in the first leg of the last-16 tie, with the 18-year-old replacement scoring five minutes after coming on. Martial had limped down the tunnel with the game goalless at the break and he didn’t reappear for the second half, adding to United’s growing injury list.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed it was an injury the Frenchman picked up in the first half and that he would need to be assessed. “Anthony got a whack on his hip so there’s another forward we need to scan and look at,” he said. “Unfortunately, he got a whack on his hip quite early in the first half so he couldn’t go on.”
Jesse Lingard (West Ham United)
Having joined West Ham team on loan from Manchester United, Jesse Lingard wont be allowed to take field against Man United. Unlike in many other European leagues, domestic loans between top-flight clubs in England include a mandatory clause that prevents the player in question from playing against their parent club.
Marcus Rashford (Manchester United)
Marcus Rashford is set to miss Manchester United’s Europa League tie against AC Milan on Thursday and is a doubt for Sunday’s visit of West Ham. Rashford suffered an ankle injury in United’s 2-0 win at Manchester City on Sunday, when he sprinted back into his own half to dispossess Riyad Mahrez.
The United and England striker was forced off with the injury, with boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer conceding he is unlikely to be fit for Milan and potentially the weekend. Speaking about Rashford’s injury, Ole Gunnar Solskjær said “I don’t think he will be available for tomorrow. He didn’t join in training today. I think he is out of tomorrow and still a doubt for the weekend”.
Roberto Firmino (Liverpool)
As per FPL, Roberto Firmino has a knock which forced him to miss Liverpool’s last encounter against Fulham in Gameweek 27. There’s still doubt in him playing against Wolves on 16th March.
Edinson Cavani (Manchester United)
Just like Firmino, Cavani also has a knock and missed the derby against City and has just 25% chance of playing against West Ham United in Gameweek 28 in reference to FPL.
Danny Ings (Southampton)
Southampton striker Danny Ings had suffered an injury blow after he was forced off injured 13 minutes into Saints’ Premier League victory at Sheffield United.
Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl said “I think it was again a muscle problem, but it doesn’t look good to be honest. I don’t know when we will have him. Muscle injuries we are normally waiting for a minimum of four weeks I think, so we will have a look”.
