ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 : Player to Watch Out from Each Team

Players Playing Their First World Cup

With just few days remaining for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, the speculations and predictions are coming out. The grand ICC event is being hosted by England and Wales and 10 teams will be competing against each other for the trophy.

Here is the list of players to watch out from each team in this world cup:

Afghanistan : Rashid Khan

This wonder kid from Afghanistan might have finished 9th in the wicket taker list in IPL but was far better with his leg spin. Not only among the first time world cup players, he is one of the players to watch out for this tournament for me.

Srilanka : Kusal Perera

Having played 88 ODIs, Perera has managed 2283 runs with an average of 29.26 including 4 centuries and 11 half centuries. This left handed wicketkeeper batsman will have a lot to prove in the national jersey. His stats so far might not suggest that but he is often compared to legendary Sanath Jayasurya for his class with the bat and the way he cuts and jabs the ball.

West Indies : Chris Gayle

Most probably this is going to be the last world cup for this hard hitting batsman from Jamaica. The left hander has 10 thousand plus runs from 289 ODIs including 25 centuries and 51 half centuries. The chances of West Indies in the tournament will heavily rely on Gayle’s batting.

Pakistan : Babar Azam

One of the most consistent performer in the Pakistan’s batting lineup, Babar Azam has the skills in him. He has an average of 50+ from 64 ODI matches he has played so far. Even though he is not known for his big hitting skills but he is a perfect choice in Pakistan lineup to anchor and build the innings.

England : Jonny Bairstow

England is one of the favorite in this tournament and Jonny Bairstow is one of their top weapon. Bairstow has been brilliant at the top of the order and is coming back off an outstanding form in recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) and series against Pakistan. He along with Jos Butler, Joe Root and Eoin Morgan form a strong batting for England.

India : Virat Kohli

The Indian skipper Virat Kohli is one of the best batsman in world cricket right now if not the best. Kohli has time and again proven his class and consistency and India will be hoping that he continues that in this world cup also. Kohli along with Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan form a very strong top order for India with the experience of MS Dhoni in middle order.

Bangladesh : Mushfiqur Rahim

Mushfiqur Rahim is one of the most experienced players in Bangladesh lineup. Experience of 200 plus ODIs in him will surely boost the morale of the team. He along with Shakib Al Hasan, Tamim Iqbal and Mashrafe Mortaza will hold the key for Bangladesh.

Australia : David Warner

Coming back from a year ban, David Warner will have a lot to prove when he takes the field in Australia’s national jersey. He played brilliantly in the recently concluded IPL as he won the Orange Cap hammering 692 runs from 12 matches with an strike rate of 140 plus. Warner along with Steve Smith and Glenn Maxwell will be key players for Australian side.

South Africa : Quinton de Kock

The left handed wicketkeeper batsman de Kock will hold the key for Proteas at the top of the order. He has been consistent in recent times and did reasonably well for his franchise Mumbai Indians in the recent IPL guiding his team to the title win.

New Zealand : Kane Williamson

We all are aware of the capability of this Kiwi batsman Kane Williamson. Not only batting, a lot will be expected of him as a captain and lead the team well. He will look to build the innings and provide the platform for the middle order to attack in the death overs.
